Trying out Club House Organic Kung Pao Seasoning Mix

It’s been a whirlwind of a year transitioning from one industry to another, from one role to another. Looking back on this year, I realize how blessed I am to have a one-of-a-kind significant-other who loves to prepare meals after our long days at work.

Sometimes with both of us having long days at work, we can both be exhausted and order takeout instead. Once in awhile, I like to take on making dinner when Douglas has an event to manage at work. Our styles of cooking are quite different, especially with how we manage our groceries. Most of the time, Douglas likes to buy fresh protein and vegetables the same day or a couples days earlier to throw together a meal.

Our supply of meat varies depending on what we pick up from Costco or from the Real Canadian Superstore in bulk. Most of the time we tend to buy a large pack, then divvy them up into smaller portions with freezer Ziploc bags. On a weekly basis, I like to dig around in our freezer to see what veggies and meat we have the night before. If required, I like to pull the meat out of the freezer to thaw out throughout the day and have it ready to cook by the time we get home.

Influenster Voxbox Club House Seasonings

Just in-time for my turn to prep dinner, I received my first Influenster Voxbox in the mail featuring a couple of the Club House Organic seasoning mixes.

In the box I found a package of Organic Kung Pao Seasoning Mix and a package of Organic Taco Seasoning Mix. The Kung Pao seasoning mix is known as a spicy, sweet organic stir-fry sauce with notes of garlic and nutty sesame. The Taco seasoning is like their original taco seasoning mix, but made with organic ingredients instead.

In the mood for rice, I opted to cook dinner with their Kung Pao mix. I sliced up the beef roulade that I had thawing out in the fridge and combined it with vegetables from our freezer. Mixing in the seasoning made it easy to add flavouring without having to think about it too much.

The seasoning gave our dishes a lot of flavour. Myself being a bit sensitive to spice, I found it a little spicy for my taste. Douglas, as he loves spice, enjoyed the beef with the Kung Pao seasoning.
