The first time I learned about this campaign was when I watched a series of Tonight Show Hashtag videos on Youtube. In between the videos, this video of #ShareBeauty played.
Between the exchanges of kind words and deeply thoughtful compliments, I admit I teared up for most of them. Seeing that these videos were of special events that happened in Quebec and Ontario, I secretly hoped that they will have these events over here on the west coast.
As another part of the #ShareBeauty series, Erika Hogerwaard explains in another video about the concept of #ShareBeauty and Shiseido Canada’s commitment to spreading beauty as a force of good in the world.
On ShareBeauty.ca, there are several ways to send a word of kindness digitally or through a personalized postcard containing samples of the Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate. Last month, I filled out the form and sent one to Douglas to brighten up his mood at work.

Initially we thought that we were sent a three-day trial of the Eudermine Revitalizing Essence as its artwork was throughout the print piece.
As we took a closer look, we realized that the printed piece had many messages of promoting #ShareBeauty, an essence product and another product. We read that Mackenzie aimed to work on a piece of art that exemplified visible respect for over a century of Eudermine artwork, while offering her own sense of artistic identity to Shiseido’s iconic product for the front of the piece.

Along with my personalized message to Douglas, there are different aspects of Shiseido to uncover. “To celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary, Shiseido collaborated with Alexandra Mackenize, a taleted Canadian multi-disciplinary visual artist and musician, to develop a limited edition work of art for Shisedio’s iconic Eudermine Revitalizing Essence. A deep appreciation for nature is a true conrerstore of the brand. For this milestone, Shiseido will plant trees across Canada – with your purchase of a limited edition Eudermine you are helping us plant trees for future generations.”
So who will you send a note of beauty and kindness to in Canada? Hopefully the lucky recipient won’t get as confused by the surprise gesture like mine did.
